There are some people who are having their eyes opened. All the attention all our talking is making a difference. I have been talking for 17 years now. Not everyone will listen but some will. I will keep talking for those ones who will listen.

Disclosure: Can it make a difference?
by morrisamb ini just spent 3 hours last night talking with a witness who is visiting my mother from another country.
even though i am diassaccociated, she listened to my story.. she said that she totally understood that since i was introduced to jehovah by the same person who sexually abused me, how could i believe in his faith?
i explained that molesters who use "faith" of any kind to enable them to abuse, destroy their victims' ability to trust a higher power, thereby, isolating the child further.

What One Elder Is Saying About Dateline
by silentlambs ini recieved this email today i thought you might find it interesting.. dear bill: i have a question for you.
at book study last week, the conductor said that dateline's web site apologized for their show on jehovah's witnesses pedophiles because they had learned that the people interviewed on the show were "not who they claimed to be.
" i tried to find dateline's web site to see what they said but i was unable to do so.

Considering that Dateline re-aired the show - why would there have been some kind of apology?

2 of the above were also 'arranged' marriages, do you know of any other instances of extremes in jw marriage age ranges?

Finally, there's brother over-the-hill who has after failing to "beat into subjection" his first wife, outlived the second, now has a nice little 18 year old trophy hanging on his side that without the aid of viagra or a pump, he couldn't possibly keep up with sexually
This sounds pretty close to my ex except he beat the first two wives and is still looking for #3. And he never had any idea about good sex so I doubt that will change. -

zenpunk - your story is so much like mine. At 16-17 my mother was dragging me around to CA and DC to meet these much older men. Most had severe psychological problems (probably why no one else had grabbed them yet) I was disgusted by having her take me to these things. She bought me this dress that just screamed - see what I got!!! and drag me off to thses meetings where theses old guys practically drooled all over their shirts at the prospect of this minor being all theirs. She finally proposed (Yes she proposed) to one fellow - not baptised yet who was only 2 years older than me. I had just turned 18 two weeks before and he was at the house for the Sat service arrangement. She took us both into the kitchen and asked us when we were going to get married and it better be soon. We both sat there stunned as she walked out of the kitchen. He looked at me and asked "So what do you think?" and I said OK. My mother came back in and asked when was the date. Disgusting. I barely knew this guy. He started coming to meetings in Feb. This was June and she arranged the marriage for one week after he got baptized - 6 weeks after she proposed.
I am disgusted thinking about it.
I can't believe other mothers were doing the same thing. Yuck I feel so bad for you.. and me.

Michael Jackson (Full of $%@#)
by out4good3 invent on.
i can't possibly be the only one feeling this way.. here's a self-professed maybe ex jw pedophile whose made upwards to a billion dollars selling records now using the race card.
michael jackson...using the race card.. could it be sour grapes because the album he spent 50 million producing was a complete and utter flop?

First - I am not a MJ fan. Now
Many of us know the pain of growing up in a JW family. Add to that the abuse. Add to that the fame. Add to that the work schedule. Add to that absolutely no possibility for normality growing up in that environment. Add to that the family problems/break-ups. Add the incest in the family.
Is it any wonder that the man is royally messed up. I would love an opportunity to do some counseling with this man. He certainly needs it.
I wonder if his attachment to a few of the Hollywood celebrities is that maybe it is only with others who had terribly abnormal childhoods that he can feel slightly comfortable. Liz Taylor's life in front of the cameras haven't help her lead an exactly normal life either.
I have no idea if the allegations of abuse are correct. There is enough in his background to make it plausible but I don't trust the media at all. If the allegations are correct, I feel sorry for his kids. If they aren't I feel sorry for him and his kids.
I wonder if due to all the abuse and neglect - the crappy childhood and all if his self-esteem is so low he needs to resort to the surgery - which at this point is totally out of control. I do believe the pigmentation problem. I have met many people with the same disorder and while they have told me that is is not physically uncomfortable it is psychologically very difficult to deal with
And no I won't buy the album

I Gave Away My Hair

Dutchie
As an older woman who is suffering from some severe hair loss as a result of all the stress in my life (previous to now) I have looked into getting a wig - I can't quite decide to go ahead and do it yet but I know it is coming. I have gone into a store once and tried them on and found one I like.
I know what I am experiencing is nothing like a cancer victim (I had a friend years ago who lost her hair due to chemo) but I do know the self-consciousness that they experience.
What a blessing you are to give such a gift. I am pleased too that your hair went to a place specifically for cancer patients. I would hate to think your hair went to make another wig for Cher!!! When donating hair for this reason I think people should do exactly what you did - contact the right people.
My hat is off to you (((Dutchie)))

(((xanex))) Believe it - you will get through this and whatever else comes your way. You have found a support group here and that is an important factor in recovery. Taking medication for a while until you sort things through is a good idea. Work on getting some local support. And feel free to contact me if you need to. Lady Lee

by carepet in
i know that jehovah`s witnesses are the most loving people on this planet, and deserve all the kindness, consideration and love in return.

they are spending their whole lives, trying to save ours.

it is so easy to bring or put people down, but when one reads the scriptures in the correct context as they do, there is nothing any one can say against them.

if only we read jehovah`s word more often and study it as they do then there would be peace and love toward and for each other.

may jehovah god be with you for ever.
